FAQ

Now that you've added your film to The Disorder Collection, many of you have asked what happens next. Below is our FAQ.

Q. Where can I find my film?

A. You can find it on The Disorder Channel, which is currently available on Amazon Fire TV. Add the channel for Amazon Fire TV by searching for “The Disorder Channel.”

Q. What is the potential audience size for my film?

A. Amazon Fire TV has more than 40 million users as of January 2020, according to this article in TechCrunch.

Q. When and how will I be compensated?

A. Since we started our festival in Boston in 2017, we have been approached many times for private screenings of rare-disease films at events all over the world. These have been by far the most lucrative opportunity for filmmakers whose work is in The Disorder Collection, since we have generally charged screening fees of $1,000 USD per film at each screening. Now that we have added your film, you are eligible to receive your share of those screening fees under the terms of your licensing agreement with us.

Aside from these screenings, your film is also available on The Disorder Channel. The channel is currently available for free to users of Amazon Fire TV.

Every quarter we will calculate the total revenues of the channel. We will deduct from that the total cost of operating the channel for the same period, and any remaining balance will be divided among all contributing filmmakers based on the total number of minutes viewing their films as a percentage of the total minutes of all films viewed in that quarter.

Q. How can I help spread the word about the channel?

A. Two ways. One, you can send people to our website: https://www.thedisordercollection.com/

And two, you can connect with us on social and share our content. Here’s where to find us:

Q. My film’s not showing up on your channel. Where is it?

A. The carousel of thumbnail images doesn’t display all of our films. If you don’t see it when browsing, simply type in and enter your film’s title in the search box, and it’ll appear.
