How to Make a Rare Disease Film
We offer virtual and in person trainings on how to tell your rare disease story as a short documentary.
Our faculty includes award-winning filmmakers with numerous rare disease documentaries to their credit.
Our trainings focus on very affordable low budget DIY filmmaking in order to make the video medium accessible to the greatest possible number of rare disease advocates. Attendees will leave our sessions feeling confident that their cellphone and some very inexpensive optional equipment are all they need to get started.
We cover not just the basics of filmmaking but those aspects that are unique to rare disease stories. We address why and how to tell your story as well as which aspects of your story to include.
We offer two packages:
The one hour overview - a 60 minute session covering all the basics to get you started, followed by the opportunity for each attendee to book 1-3 hours of one on one coaching with our instructors.
The 3 week intensive - This packages goes into greater depth, dedicating one hour to each Pre-production, Production, and Post-Production. The presentation by our faculty is followed by the opportunity for each attendee to book 1-3 hours of one on one coaching with our instructors.
